Pilates Teacher Training
Pandora Pilates Movement Academy
Full Apparatus Pilates Certification in Miami
Pandora Pilates Movement Academy offers one of the most comprehensive and clinically grounded Pilates teacher training programs in South Florida. Led by Dr. Julia Shmurak, DPT, NCPT — a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, and 3rd-Generation Master Pilates Teacher — our curriculum follows PMA ITTAP guidelines and covers Mat, Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, Chair, and full apparatus, preparing graduates for the NCPT national certification exam and careers in Pilates studios, physical therapy clinics, performance centers, and private practice across Miami and beyond.
Why Pandora Pilates Movement Academy Is Different
Most Pilates teacher training programs are taught by experienced instructors. Ours is led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy who is also a 3rd-Generation Master Pilates Teacher — a combination that changes what you learn, how you learn it, and what you are able to offer your future clients.
Clinical foundation: anatomy, movement science, and evidence-based practice woven through every unit, not treated as a separate module
Full apparatus training: Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, Chair, Arc Barrel, and Ladder Barrel — not just Reformer or mat
Rehab-informed teaching: how to work with beginners, athletes, injury recovery clients, prenatal and postnatal populations, and special populations with confidence
Mentorship integration: observation, teaching practice, and direct feedback throughout the program, not just written and practical exams
PMA ITTAP-aligned: nationally recognized certification, NCPT exam-eligible
Small cohorts: intimate training environment with direct access to Dr. Julia throughout the program
Make-up sessions are available with a Pandora Pilates educator for missed sessions within the allowable absence policy
A Program That Does Not Cut Corners
Many newer, fast-track Pilates teacher training programs condense essential content into fewer weekends, skipping or shortening vital modules on anatomy, foundational Pilates principles, and client safety. Many are taught by third-party facilitators with no ongoing connection to a working Pilates studio, leaving graduates without the depth of knowledge, hands-on practice, and professional support needed for real-world teaching.
At Pandora Pilates Movement Academy, we do not rush your education. Our curriculum dedicates full, unhurried time to anatomy and applied movement science; classical and contemporary Pilates principles; client safety and special populations; hands-on practice with real clients under direct supervision; and ongoing mentorship and studio support that continues after graduation. You are not just completing a course; you are joining a professional community with a 3rd-Generation Master Pilates Teacher lineage behind every hour of your training.
Led by Our Founder
Dr. Julia Shmurak, DPT, NCPT — Program Director
Dr. Julia Shmurak is the founder of Pandora Pilates & Physical Therapy and the lead educator of Pandora Pilates Movement Academy. She holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher — and a 3rd-Generation Master Pilates Teacher, carrying direct classical lineage into every teacher-training cohort she leads. Dr. Julia has over 15 years of experience training aspiring Pilates professionals and clinicians across Miami and South Florida, and is recognized for her hands-on approach, high standards, and commitment to elevating the Pilates profession. She brings the same depth and precision to teacher training that she brings to her clinical practice — because at Pandora Pilates Movement Academy, the two are inseparable.

Make-up sessions are available with a Pandora Pilates educator for missed sessions within the allowable absence policy.
Safety, Anatomy & Real-World Preparation
Safety and applied anatomy are central to everything taught at Pandora Pilates Movement Academy. You will learn movement mechanics, postural alignment, and musculoskeletal function from a Doctor of Physical Therapy, building the clinical literacy to teach safe, effective Pilates to all populations, including seniors, pre- and postnatal clients, athletes, and those recovering from injury or surgery.
Practical learning is woven through the entire program. You will teach real clients under direct supervision, receive immediate and specific feedback from Dr. Julia, and graduate with the hands-on experience and professional confidence needed to work in any setting — Pilates studio, physical therapy clinic, performance center, or private practice — from day one.
